OMD Centralizers are designed to meet the challenges of today’s torturous wells that require more rigorous centralization while minimizing drag and maximizing flow area. Many of our centralizers are used to reach TDs of 20K+ FT directional wells reducing run time and mitigating risk.
Our centralizers are produced by the state-of-the-art hydroforming process, creating even greater flow area while maintaining the proven and patented design. The innovative split blade configuration increases resistance to deformation in challenging conditions and facilitates an additional pathway for mud flow during the cementing process.
Most OMD centralizers are designed to free float between casing collars or stop collars, we stock the most common sizes of centralizers for OCTG casing and hole sizes. The demand for centralization in extended reach wells and high dogleg severity profiles led to the development of the hydroformed design. Its rounded vane design minimizes drag and reduces the likelihood of mechanical sticking, as well as prevent hang-ups on ledges and windows. The spiral vane geometry guarantees consistent stand-off in the open hole regardless of orientation and the weld-free vane design ensures uniformity and reliable dimensions.
Hydroforming makes it possible to manufacture components requiring complex external shapes with favorable strength properties yet producing a lightweight product that is easier for handling on the rig floor and pipe yard. The term “ Hydrostamp™ ” was coined by OMD to describe the process used to stamp a flat metal plate into a cylindrical shape while being Hydroformed with high pressure fluid simultaneously.
High pressure fluid is injected into the part causing the metal to take the shape of a tool or mold. This technique allows for complex shapes to be formed while producing stronger more rigid and lighter premium components in a very economical manner.
As in Hydroforming, the Hydrostamp™ process yields a part with a high level of strength and torsional rigidity in addition to repeatable precise dimensional and contour accuracy.
The Hydrostamp ™ process results in less than 10% variation in blank to finished part thickness, due to uniform elongation of the material. The applied force during the cycle is multi-directional drawing the metal around the tool or into the mold cavity which greatly reduces stretching or thinning of the formed areas and finished parts.
Fixturing
The sections are held in a welding fixture to control positional accuracy and roundness of the finished parts.

The Hydrostamp ™ sections are welded by cutting-edge state of the art CNC Robotic Technology automated machines. This process ensures accuracy and repeatability on the production floor.
